Yoyo Tuki is one of Rapa nui’s most important artists, musicians & cultural ambassadors these days. He is Rapa Nui’s most successful & important international artist & world wide cultural ambassador. He has toured the world several times, performed in some of Earth’s most prestigious music festivals, events & for well known outlets such as National Geographic, Womad, along side some of Rapa Nui’s most important yearly events. He is a music legend & super star among the local circuits, regarded as the artist to have reached most countries and important stages in the world. Yoyo is also regarded as an example or rol model for many of the local people, in special the young generation. He descends from a strong cultural family of artists, carvers, musicians, farmers, fishermen & historians. Pretty much from the heart of Rapa Nui culture, his grandfather Benedicto Tuki Tepano was a respected elder, nick named by the locals as Mana Roa (Great Mana). He was the best master carver of his time & also the traditional historian and keeper of knowledge that taught many of nowadays teachers. Please be mindful that Yoyo travels from time to time for international touring so performances with him are subject to his availability.
